French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk have called for an independent investigation into alleged election rigging in Georgia, according to opposition leader Lasha Bakradze of the Unity – National Movement.

Bakradze stressed that “Scholz, Macron, and Tusk have demanded what we are demanding—an independent investigation into how these elections were manipulated.” He added that while European leaders acknowledge “significant concerns” about the election’s integrity, “as democratic Europeans, they require more substantial evidence to officially declare the elections illegitimate.”

The call from the leaders of France, Germany, and Poland reflects increased scrutiny of Georgia’s electoral process amid allegations of widespread manipulation.
