Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa emphasized that Georgia’s future direction should be determined solely by the Georgian people, expressing unwavering support for a free press and freedom of expression. Speaking at the European Political Community Summit in Budapest, Siliņa reaffirmed Latvia’s commitment to Georgia’s European aspirations.

Siliņa also highlighted the importance of receiving independent assessments of the electoral process in Georgia, pointing to recent issues in Moldova where Russian influence reportedly affected 10% of election results.

“We understand the challenges faced by countries closer to Russia and appreciate the efforts of Georgian society to uphold democracy,” Siliņa remarked, affirming Latvia’s continued support for Georgia on its path toward European integration.
