Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the opposition Lelo party, a co-founder of the domestic TBC Bank, filed a defamation lawsuit against Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, who last month accused him of racketeering business under the United National Movement Government.

Kobakhidze’s allegations came following the Lelo statement, which called for the Prime Minister’s impeachment after his controversial charter flight to Germany in August to later fly to the United States to accompany his son at the Pennsylvania University.

Garibashvili claimed his father covered the expenses of the charter flight in the Governmental plane operated by the Georgian Airways.
