A Tbilisi court has sentenced Gela Udzilauri to life imprisonment for the murder of Levan Jangveladze, who was shot and killed on Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue in March 2025.

Judge Giorgi Gelashvili delivered the verdict after the defense presented its closing arguments and the defendant made a final statement. Udzilauri was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder of two persons by life-endangering means and illegal possession and carrying of firearms under Articles 19.109 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
