Levan Khabeishvili, the leader of the United National Movement (UNM), on Friday urged supporters to prepare for what he described as a “peaceful revolution” aimed at bringing political change to the country.
In a social media post, Khabeishvili said Georgians were “more united than ever” and confirmed he would attend a planned opposition rally on 13 September. He added that the UNM was working towards a “peaceful revolution and victory” on 4 October.
Khabeishvili criticised rival opposition figures, accusing them of wasting energy on “petty quarrels” rather than challenging what he called the “regime of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili,” founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party and its honorary chair.
