Levan Khabeishvili, Chair of the opposition United National Movement’s Political Council, has been detained.

Khabeishvili said the State Security Service was carrying out instructions given by ruling party leaders.

“Do not be afraid of anything, because the power lies with the Georgian people. I expected this, and they planned to arrest me. They are detaining me because, apparently, one person - Khabeishvili - can defeat Ivanishvili. But you can defeat Ivanishvili, you can defeat this regime,” he stated.

Reports also suggest that Murtaz Zodelava has been detained.
