Deputy chair of the Georgian Dream parliamentary faction and member of the ruling majority Levan Machavariani has shared an archive video on social media, recalling past statements made by representatives of the United National Movement regarding relations with Russia.

In the video, former UNM figures are heard saying they welcomed Russian tourists and supported trade relations with Russia.

Commenting on the footage, Machavariani criticised claims that the United National Movement is pro-Western.

“Those who were convinced that the UNM is ‘pro-Western’ - it is time to start thinking a bit more critically,” Machavariani wrote.
