According to Levan Makhashvili, a member of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States has sparked significant global interest in his domestic and foreign policies. While many aspects remain undefined, Makhashvili highlighted several emerging trends during a recent statement.

“Donald Trump’s administration will be entirely focused on advancing America’s interests,” Makhashvili said. “His policies aim to maximize the benefits for the United States. We must draw serious conclusions from this approach. One clear direction is his intention to dismantle or significantly reform liberal ideology, as reflected in his early decisions.”

Makhashvili elaborated on key areas of Trump’s policies:

* Gender and Traditional Values: Trump firmly recognizes only two genders, emphasizing traditional and conservative values such as family and heritage.
* Deep State Reform: The President has launched efforts to eliminate informal influences and “deep state” bureaucracy within the US administration.
* Immigration Policies: A significantly stricter immigration framework is already taking shape.
Makhashvili also confirmed the ruling party’s readiness to restore Georgia’s relations with the United States to a productive and cooperative path.

“Our goal is to align interests, visions, and approaches to key foreign policy issues,” Makhashvili said. “We are committed to identifying intersecting points of interest. For example, we share common views on dismantling the ‘deep state,’ prioritizing national interests, and upholding traditional family values. These shared principles provide a strong foundation for rebuilding Georgia-US relations.”

Makhashvili concluded by emphasizing his confidence that fundamental policy alignment could lead to renewed partnerships, with Georgia expressing full readiness to engage with the US administration under Trump’s leadership.
