Levan Makhashvili, a member of the ruling Georgian Dream party, believes that most opposition members will eventually participate in parliamentary sessions. His comments come as the 11th convocation of Parliament prepares to convene on November 25.

“Our expectation is that they [the opposition] will ultimately join Parliament. However, wherever they’ve been— on the streets or in Parliament—they’ve left behind destruction, chaos, and confrontation. So, if they choose not to join, perhaps it could even be beneficial for Parliament, as it might lead to a more constructive process,” Makhashvili told Imedi TV.

Despite criticizing the opposition’s approach, Makhashvili reiterated his belief that the majority will decide to engage in parliamentary work after some time, even if they are boycotting the sessions at this stage.
