The United National Movement (UNM) has officially become the first Georgian political party to gain full membership in the Youth of the European People’s Party (YEPP), according to an announcement from the party’s press office.
The decision was made during YEPP’s 15th Congress, where the UNM’s youth wing was granted full member status in Europe’s largest and most influential youth political organization. YEPP brings together youth from over 40 countries and includes tens of thousands of young political leaders affiliated with the European People’s Party.
“This is a very significant achievement. The United National Movement has become the first Georgian party to join Europe’s largest youth political organization as a full member,” said Levan Sanikidze, a representative of UNM.
“As full members, we will now be actively involved in all decision-making processes within YEPP, where the voice of Georgian youth will be represented. I am convinced this is just the beginning,” Sanikidze added. “The time will come when Georgian youth and young politicians, who are emerging today, will lead Georgia into full membership of the European Union. This success is just one step toward that goal, and I believe the unprecedented support we have received will extend to all of Georgian society.”
YEPP is widely recognized as a key platform for shaping the future of center-right politics in Europe and for nurturing the next generation of political leaders across the continent.
