Lithuania will invest €20 million in joint arms production with Ukraine, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has announced, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense industry.

According to Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakalienė, Ukraine’s defense sector has significant potential to become a major global player due to the expertise and motivation of Ukrainian engineers, as well as the strategic vision of decision-makers in the field.

“Lithuania will continue investing in Ukraine’s defense industry. We have already allocated €20 million, and this amount will increase. However, our goal is to deepen our cooperation further—developing joint Lithuania-Ukraine arms production both in Lithuania and Ukraine,” Šakalienė stated.

For security reasons, specific types of weaponry covered by the agreement have not been disclosed. In the coming weeks, Lithuanian and Ukrainian representatives will hold joint meetings in Lithuania to discuss the implementation of the agreement and further steps in defense cooperation.
