Lithuanian president pays unexpected visit to Kyiv

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on Wednesday arrived in Kyiv, where he will meet his counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.  The visiting official will also take part in events planned for the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine and discuss the agenda of the NATO summit in Vilnius next month.

 

The leaders will also focus on topics related to negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

 

The President of Lithuania arrived in Kyiv from The Hague, where states discussed support for Ukraine on the backdrop of its conflict with Russia.  From Kyiv, Nauseda will travel to Brussels, where the meeting of the Council of European Leaders will begin on Thursday.
