Lockdown in Germany will be extended until April 18th. The current restrictions are in effect until March 29, but the regions are already preparing to extend them.

Spiegel writes about this with reference to sources who are familiar with the negotiations of the prime ministers of the federal states with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

It is reported that at the moment, the federal states continue to provide recommendations to the central government on the fight against COVID. At the same time, it is expected that it will be allowed to gather in the amount of no more than five people from two families.

But further mitigation measures have not yet been discussed, as Germany is now seeing a sharp rise in new cases of the disease, reaching 107.3 cases per 100,000 population.
