Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorshvili on Monday said members of Parliament will have the opportunity to hold multiple meetings in Washington focused on relations with the United States.
She added the visit comes after a period during which there had been no engagement between the Georgian Parliament and the US Congress, making the upcoming trip particularly significant.
“The visit of Georgian MPs to the United States is important because members of Parliament, including the chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, will have the opportunity in Washington to hold a number of meetings and discuss Georgia–US relations and how we see the future development of this partnership,” the Minister said.
A Georgian parliamentary delegation, led by Foreign Relations Committee Chair Nikoloz Samkharadze, will attend the Alliance of Sovereign Nations summit in the United States at the invitation of Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna.
