The visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to China holds “significant importance” for strengthening relations between the two countries, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said on Monday while commenting on the ongoing visit.

She added discussions would focus primarily on enhancing economic cooperation.

“The meeting between the two prime ministers will be an excellent opportunity to discuss cooperation with China in all directions, which is crucial for us in the global context, particularly in terms of strengthening relations in various fields, such as the Middle Corridor and connectivity between East and West”, Botchorishvili said.

She noted that Georgia’s partnership with China carried particular significance in this regard.

“This visit represents another valuable opportunity to further deepen relations between Georgia and China, including in the area of economic cooperation”, the FM added.
