Strong Georgia leader: “Fight for freedom will continue”

Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, vowed to persist in the fight for Georgia’s freedom and European future, condemning the government’s use of force against peaceful protesters.

“This violence by Georgian Dream was completely unnecessary. They are so afraid that they no longer know how to act,” Khazaradze said during a protest rally.

He criticized the ruling party for what he called a betrayal of Georgia’s future. “For 20 days, Georgian Dream—essentially a Russian government—has denied the Georgian people their future. To surrender now would mean handing over the country to Russia,” he stated.

Khazaradze emphasized the broader significance of the protests. “This is about more than elections. It’s about rejecting the path Bidzina Ivanishvili has forced on Georgia. The Georgian people will not give up their fundamental right to freedom and a European future,” he declared.

Protesters, earlier dispersed by police near Tbilisi State University, regrouped at the campus after marching from Melikishvili Avenue. Demonstrators have pledged to continue their resistance at various locations, with Khazaradze affirming that “the fight for freedom will not stop.”
