Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, announced after meeting President Salome Zourabichvili at the Orbeliani Palace on Monday that the concept of a “People’s Parliament” was presented as part of ongoing discussions on Georgia’s political future.

“We introduced the idea to the President. I came out of the meeting very satisfied – it was a very interesting discussion,” Khazaradze told journalists.

He added that President Zourabichvili plans to engage with other coalitions and will brief the public on a “comprehensive plan” for ensuring peaceful new elections. “These meetings will continue not only with us but also with other coalitions. The plan exists to hold peaceful new elections in this country,” Khazaradze said.

Following her meeting with the Strong Georgia coalition, President Zourabichvili is set to hold discussions with Coalition for Change leaders Nika Gvaramia and Elene Khoshtaria.
