Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, has dismissed accusations of pro-Russian sympathies as “vulgar PR,” claiming such narratives were part of a broader effort to manipulate and control independent nations, including Georgia.

In a post on social media on Monday, Mdinaradze responded to recent remarks by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who has called for an investigation into former President Barack Obama and senior American national security officials. Gabbard alleged they conspired to falsely present Russia as having interfered in Donald Trump’s 2016 election win.

Referring to what he saw as a global strategy of political labeling, Mdinaradze wrote: “‘Not Russian…’ - insert whoever you like. It’s all a vulgar PR campaign around so-called pro-Russianness, with which they want to enslave the world, including the Georgian people.”

“The pros are themselves. We are Georgians, and Georgia will never be enslaved by anyone again”, he pledged.
