The Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, Mamuka Mdinaradze stated the Georgian people will never put up with external control. He made the statement on Sunday during a regional campaign event in Akhaltsikhe, a town in Southern Georgia.

Mdinaradze addressed locals by acknowledging the diverse ethnic communities in the region, including Georgians, Armenians, and others. He praised the local parliamentarians and communities for their unwavering commitment to the nation’s values, highlighting their knowledge of Georgia’s history and respect for tradition.

He also emphasized the significant progress Georgia has made under the current government, particularly in economic growth, which he noted as being the highest in Europe in recent years. He attributed this success to the country’s resilience.

Mdinaradze criticized opposition forces within Georgia, accusing them of acting as foreign agents ‘‘whose primary goal is to destabilize the country.’’ According to him, these groups rely on external interference and plan provocations aimed at creating chaos and undermining the upcoming October 26 elections.

“Their strategy is clear: they aim to disrupt our elections and then claim fraud to stir unrest,” Mdinaradze said. However, he reaffirmed the Georgian people, especially in regions like Samtskhe-Javakheti, are able to resist any external influence or attempts to dictate the country’s future.

“Georgia will never submit to external control, no matter the lies or orders were given from abroad,” he declared.

GD Executive Secretary concluded by urging the people to choose between national values and foreign influence, between good and evil, and between life and death.
“We choose life, peace, dignity, prosperity, and, through this path, we choose Georgia’s European future,” Mdinaradze said.
