Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday claimed that decisions about Georgia were made exclusively within the country.
His remarks came during the party’s ninth congress, where Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze was unanimously elected as the party chairman.
In his opening address, Mdinaradze welcomed the congress delegates, members of the Political Council, and extended special recognition to the party’s Honorary Chairman, Bidzina Ivanishvili. Highlighting the importance of the congress, he said the gathering had already addressed key agenda items, including the approval of amendments to the party's statute and the election of members to the Audit Commission.
Mdinaradze emphasized the party’s achievements under Ivanishvili’s leadership, asserting that Georgian Dream had “established a precedent of pursuing policies free from external influence.” He further claimed that the party had secured an “unprecedented level of national independence,” allowing “decisions concerning Georgia to be made solely within the country.”
“Together with the Georgian people, we have achieved such a degree of independence that we can proudly say - today, decisions about Georgia and the Georgian people are made only in Georgia,” Mdinaradze claimed.
Describing Kobakhidze as a "worthy person and a loyal friend," Mdinaradze expressed confidence in his leadership during what he described as a challenging political period.
