A man who was charged with the sale of drugs to late cameraman Lakso Lashkarava in a high-profile case has been sentenced to eight years in prison. 

 

Lashkarava was attacked by right-wing activists during Tbilisi Pride events on July 5, 2021. 

 

He died several days after being discharged from hospital. 

 

His colleagues and relatives claimed that the cameraman died due to the injuries received during the incident. However, the Interior Ministry stated that the reason for the death was a drug overdose.
