Officers of the Marneuli District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a man wanted for domestic violence against his pregnant wife.

According to the Ministry, the suspect - born in 2001 and previously convicted of various crimes - physically assaulted his pregnant spouse on December 6 and then fled the scene.

Following an investigation, law enforcement officers detained the suspect in Marneuli based on a court warrant.

The accused has been placed in a penitentiary facility.
