A physical altercation broke out at the 74th polling station in Marneuli, Kvemo Kartli region, resulting in injuries to Azad Kerimov, the chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) in Marneuli.

Kaha Kvekveskiri, a representative from the party, stated that there are irregularities, and a representative from a non-governmental organization was thrown out of the polling station.

“We came to control the situation when suddenly this group entered the polling station and started attacking us, cursing, and our party chairman was brutally beaten. We are waiting for an ambulance, which has not yet arrived, and we have called the police, but they are not here. This gang is gathered here, and they are threatening us with death,” he stressed. According to Kvekveskiri, the police have not responded to the incident.

An observer at the polling station said that she had raised concerns with the commission members about the layout of the tables and violations regarding markings. Following this, the group reportedly demanded that the observer leave the room.

“I quietly pointed out that the tables were too close to the wall to prevent conflict. I also made comments about the marking violations, and an hour later, this group stormed in, surrounded me, and demanded that I leave the room; they wanted to expel me,” the observer recounted.
