Ukrainian intelligence services have reported a successful sabotage operation against Russian forces in occupied southern Ukraine. On the night of May 31, Ukrainian scouts blew up a Russian military train near the village of Akimovka in the Melitopol district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
According to the report, the train was headed toward temporarily occupied Crimea and was carrying fuel tanks and cargo wagons. The explosion derailed the train and damaged a key railway artery used by Russian forces for logistics between Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Crimea.
The incident has significantly disrupted Russian supply lines in the region, the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence said. Following the blast, Russian National Guard patrols have been observed moving around local settlements, and security checks at control points have become especially stringent for anyone entering or leaving the area.
The sabotage underscores the continued resistance efforts in Russian-occupied territories and highlights Ukraine’s ongoing push to weaken the logistics of Moscow’s forces.
