The Georgian government will provide one-off financial assistance payments to World War II veterans and the families of those killed in the war to mark the 81st anniversary of the victory over fascism.
Under the government decree, veterans will receive 2,000 lari, while family members of those who died during the war will receive 1,000 lari in social assistance payments.
The financial support will be distributed to individuals registered in the electronic database of the State Service for Veterans Affairs, including both war participants and the relatives of those killed in the conflict.
According to the decree, outside the capital Tbilisi, the payments will be administered by the Social Service Agency, which operates under the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs.
For beneficiaries registered in Tbilisi, the city hall will allocate the necessary funds and oversee the distribution of the assistance.
