MEP Anna Fotyga who arrived in Georgia late yesterday to meet with arrested former president Mikheil Saakashvili in Gldani prison, also met with Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria, who has been on hunger strike for 10 days in the building of the state legislature, demanding the transfer of Saakashvili to a civil clinic.

Fotyga did not comment for the media.

However, Khoshtaria said that it was a ‘big honour’ for her that ‘Fotyga came to see me.’

Khoshtaria stated that the visits of Georgia’s western partners are crucial when the country’s ‘democratic development is at risk.’

She said that Fotyga knows well what a dictatorship regime and authoritarian rule of governance is.
