Metropolitan Shio Mujiri, serving as locum tenens of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, announced that the Patriarch has been transferred to intensive care at the Caucasus Medical Centre, where doctors were closely monitoring his condition.

“Our doctors are making every effort and paying maximum attention to stabilise his condition, and we hope, God willing, that he will recover,” Mujiri said.

He called on clergy, monastic communities, and all faithful to pray for the Patriarch’s health, highlighting the spiritual importance of his wellbeing to the Georgian Orthodox community.

The Patriarch remains under constant medical supervision at the centre.
