Georgia has deported 121 foreign citizens who were found to be residing in the country without legal grounds, the Interior Ministry announced on Monday.

According to the ministry’s Migration Department, the deportations were carried out over the past month through coordinated operations involving multiple units of the ministry.

The individuals removed from the country included citizens of India, Iran, Türkiye, Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, the Philippines, Jordan, Bangladesh, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Romania, Russia, Nigeria and several other states. All have been issued entry bans in accordance with Georgian legislation.

The Migration Department stressed that it is responsible for identifying foreign nationals staying in Georgia illegally and implementing deportation procedures as part of the national effort to combat unlawful migration.
