The Ministry of Internal Affairs on Tuesday said its Migration Department, in coordination with other divisions of the body, expelled 18 foreign nationals from Georgia in recent days following “complex enforcement measures”.

The Ministry noted those expelled were citizens of Iran, China, Russia, Nigeria, Egypt, Bangladesh, Belarus, Turkey, India, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. In line with Georgian law, the individuals have also been banned from re-entering the country.

The Migration Department is responsible for combating illegal migration within Georgia, including identifying foreign citizens without legal grounds for staying in the country and enforcing their removal.
