Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Tuesday said 22 foreign nationals had been expelled from the country following coordinated operations by its Migration Department and other units.

Those removed in recent days were citizens of Egypt, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Russia and Kenya. All have also been banned from re-entering Georgia under current legislation, the MIA press office said.

The Ministry further noted its Migration Department was responsible for tackling illegal migration within the country, including identifying foreign citizens without legal grounds to remain and carrying out deportations.

Officials added that the latest operation was part of broader efforts to enforce immigration law and ensure compliance with national regulations.
