Georgia deports 28 foreign nationals in crackdown on illegal migration

Georgia has deported 28 foreign nationals in recent days as part of a coordinated operation targeting illegal migration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The deportations were carried out through joint efforts between the Migration Department and other relevant units within the ministry. According to officials, the individuals were removed in accordance with Georgian law and have been banned from re-entering the country.
The deported individuals include citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Israel, Pakistan, Russia, and China.
“The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its key functions is to identify foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal grounds and to ensure their removal,” the official statement reads.
Authorities emphasized their ongoing commitment to upholding immigration laws and maintaining border security.
