Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has deported 30 foreign nationals following coordinated operations conducted by the Migration Department and other relevant divisions, the ministry announced on Tuesday.
The deported individuals were citizens of India, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, the Philippines, Jordan, Bangladesh, Canada, Côte d'Ivoire, and Romania.
“As a result of recent comprehensive measures, 30 foreign nationals were expelled from Georgia. In accordance with existing legislation, they have been banned from re-entering the country,” the ministry said.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the main authority responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its core functions is identifying foreign citizens residing in Georgia without legal grounds and enforcing deportation procedures.
