Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has expelled 36 foreign nationals as part of a recent coordinated operation targeting illegal migration, the ministry announced on July 30.
The deported individuals included citizens of Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, the Philippines, and China. According to the ministry, those expelled have been banned from re-entering the country under current legislation.
The ministry said the action was carried out through close coordination between the Migration Department and other internal divisions as part of a broader campaign against illegal migration.
In July alone, a total of 115 foreign nationals were expelled, while in the first seven months of 2025, Georgia has deported 640 individuals — a 233% increase compared to the same period last year.
The Migration Department, which is responsible for combating illegal migration within Georgia, is tasked with identifying foreign nationals residing in the country without legal grounds and carrying out deportations accordingly.
