Authorities in Georgia on Tuesday said 78 foreign nationals have been expelled from the country following a series of coordinated migration enforcement measures carried out in recent days.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said its Migration Department, working closely with other relevant units, conducted what it described as “complex operations” targeting individuals found to be in violation of immigration rules.

According to the ministry, those expelled were citizens of multiple countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Yemen, India, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and China.

Under current legislation, the individuals concerned have also been banned from re-entering Georgia, the ministry added.
