Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Thursday said 86 foreign nationals had been deported from the country following a series of operations carried out in recent days by the Migration Department in coordination with other ministry units.

According to the ministry, those expelled included citizens of Turkey, Russia, India, Turkmenistan, Kenya, Nigeria, China, Azerbaijan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, among others.

The Interior Ministry said the deportations were carried out as part of “complex measures” conducted by the Migration Department.

Under Georgian law, the individuals who were removed from the country have also been banned from re-entering Georgia, the ministry added.
