Georgia has expelled 87 foreign nationals in recent days following coordinated operations by the Interior Ministry’s Migration Department and other relevant units, the ministry announced on Tuesday.
Those deported include citizens of Turkey, China, India, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Israel, Lebanon, South Africa, Sudan and Syria.
The expulsions were carried out as part of what the MIA described as comprehensive migration control measures.
Under current legislation, all individuals who were expelled have also been banned from re-entering the country.
