President Mikheil Kavelashvili has met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana, where the two leaders discussed deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting focused on strengthening political and economic ties, as well as enhancing regional connectivity.
Kavelashvili said the Middle Corridor - a transport and trade route linking Asia and Europe - has significant potential for expansion, stressing the need for intensified joint efforts to develop it further.
The Georgian president noted that longstanding friendly relations between the two countries now required the signing of a strategic partnership agreement to formalise and deepen cooperation.
He also thanked the Kazakh side for its continued support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the talks, Kavelashvili congratulated Tokayev on the successful referendum on the adoption of a new constitution, saying it would further strengthen state institutions and support long-term socio-economic development under his leadership.
