Kavelashvili thanked Azerbaijan for its “continued support” of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty

President Mikheil Kavelashvili of Georgia held a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the presidential residence, with discussions focusing on strengthening the already close bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.

According to the Georgian President’s press service, the talks centred on deepening economic cooperation and enhancing the strategic partnership across various sectors. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability and mutual development.

Following the meeting, President Kavelashvili praised the relationship between Georgia and Azerbaijan, describing it as a model of friendship and cooperation based on trust, equality, and respect for each nation’s interests.

“I had a rather fruitful meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. As you know, we and Azerbaijan are strategic partners. We jointly participate in very important projects, and we also agree on many issues,” Kavelashvili said. “Our relations with Azerbaijan are exemplary. I am confident that these relations will further strengthen and develop.”

He also thanked Azerbaijan for its “continued support” of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, highlighting the importance of this stance in bilateral and regional relations.
