President Mikheil Kavelashvili, accompanied by his wife Tamar Bagrationi, visited the Caucasus Medical Centre to receive updates on the condition of Patriarch Ilia II.

The president said the Patriarch remained in intensive care, where he was undergoing intensive treatment following a deterioration in his health.

“He is in the intensive care unit. The situation is serious, but intensive treatment is ongoing. We must remain hopeful and pray that everything will end well, that the Patriarch will recover and return to us,” Kavelashvili said.
