President Kavelashvili meets Kazakh FM to discuss strategic cooperation

President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Tuesday held a meeting with Ermek Kosherbayev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The discussions focused on the friendly and partnership-based relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan, highlighting successful cooperation across various sectors. The leaders also addressed issues related to elevating bilateral relations to a strategic level, the president’s press office said.
“As noted during the meeting, the strong partnership between the two countries is grounded in mutual respect, safeguarding national interests, and considering shared regional priorities,” the statement read.
Special attention was given to ongoing global political developments and active conflicts. Both sides stressed that, amid these challenges, maintaining stability and peace in the South Caucasus and Central Asia has global significance. The growing role of the Central Corridor and the importance of regional connectivity in a complex and rapidly changing geopolitical environment were also highlighted.
President Kavelashvili thanked Minister Kosherbayev for Kazakhstan’s “unwavering support” for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
