Georgian President Mikheil Kavlashvili has honoured the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, by laying a wreath at his mausoleum in Ankara during his official visit to the country on Tuesday.
Accompanied by his wife, Tamar Bagrationi, and members of the delegation, Kavlashvili visited Anıtkabir, the final resting place of Atatürk.
Kavlashvili paid tribute to Atatürk’s legacy and left a message in the book of honour for distinguished visitors, his press office said.
The visit also includes high-level meetings with a Turkish counterpart, with a joint media statement expected following talks.
Among the planned engagements is a meeting with Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
