Georgian President hosts ambassadors accredited to UN

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Wednesday held a meeting with ambassadors accredited to the United Nations.
Kavelashvili hosted the permanent representatives to the UN of Burundi, Nepal, Lesotho, and Kuwait at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi, his press office said.
“The meeting discussed issues of cooperation within the UN and Georgia’s active involvement in the activities of the organization and its institutions.
Particular attention was paid to the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, the country’s regional role and its economic capabilities”, the press office added.
At the meeting, Kavelashvili pointed to the challenges facing the world and noted that strong support for peace and stability in international and regional formats was of particular importance, the press office said.
He further noted that Tbilisi supported and was ready to continue to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus region in the future.
The meeting was attended by Ketevan Kvinikadze, Head of the Presidential Administration of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Davit Bakradze, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations, and Luka Ekhvaia, Advisor to the President on Foreign Affairs.
