Health Minister meets parents of children with type 1 diabetes

Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Mikheil Sarjveladze, has met parents of children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes to discuss state support programmes and access to medical services.
The meeting focused on existing healthcare programmes, service accessibility and future needs related to diabetes care, the ministry said on Friday.
Discussions included access to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, the availability of insulin supplies, challenges associated with diabetes management and existing support mechanisms.
Officials said consultations with interested parties would continue on specific issues linked to the implementation of the programme, stressing that such dialogue was necessary for the effective planning and management of the process.
The ministry also underlined the importance of taking beneficiaries’ views into account in order to improve the efficiency of healthcare services and support mechanisms.
Sarjveladze further noted that the ministry would continue working actively to expand high-quality and accessible services for children living with diabetes.
