Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze says that there is ‘no risk’ about 200,000 Pfizer coronavirus vaccines whose data expire in November to spoil.

She says that ‘it is guaranteed’ the vaccines will be used.

Tikaradze said that according to preliminary reports by FDA the expiration dates for Pfizer may be extended to nine months from existing six months.

Georgian health officials have warned earlier this week that a portion of the German-US Pfizer vaccine, one of the most effective coronavirus vaccines on the market, may spoil because of the decreased rate of vaccination in the county.

About 800,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are currently available in Georgia.
