The parliamentary election day in Georgia began with reports of voting irregularities in Batumi, according to Mirdat Kamadadze, a representative of the Coalition for Change. He said that as of this morning, 30 complaints have been filed, with issues ranging from voters receiving multiple ballots to malfunctioning voting equipment.
Kamadadze detailed several specific incidents, explaining that voters at stations No. 10, 71, 18, 35, 20, 13, 14, 70, 86, 83, and 33 were reportedly given two ballots each, which is a breach of voting rules.
“We have video evidence of these violations, which we will make available to the public,” he stated.
He also noted issues at precincts No. 4 and 51, where voting machines experienced technical malfunctions. Additionally, reports from Batumi’s No. 2 precinct indicated that a commission member remained present during a voter’s private voting process, potentially influencing their choice.
Kamadadze called for transparency and impartiality in the electoral process to ensure voters can cast their ballots freely and without pressure.
