The Intermunicipal Agency for the Management of Stray Animals in central Shida Kartli region of Georgia has denied social media reports claiming that stray dogs were being burned in a crematorium.

The agency on Wednesday said the crematorium was used only for the disposal of material from operations and veterinary procedures, as well as animals that have already died.

Officials added that all relevant documentation was available and could be provided to any interested party upon request.

“The information being circulated is false, and we call on everyone to refrain from deliberately spreading such lies,” the agency said.
