The Moscow Basmanny court has sentenced Mamuka Mamulashvili, the leader of the Georgian Legion operating in Ukraine, to two months’ imprisonment in absentia.

According to Russian media reports, the two-month sentence will commence upon his extradition to Russian territory or his arrest within Russia.

“Mamulashvili is now listed as wanted both domestically and internationally,” states TASS.

Russia alleges that Mamulashvili has been involved in the recruitment of mercenaries and has abused his official capacity to propagate hatred through media channels.
