People's Power member Zurab Kadagidze: Georgia is only 'peace island' in region

Zurab Kadagidze, a member of the People’s Power movement, established by the ruling Georgian Dream party former members, has declared Georgia is “the only island of peace” in a region engulfed by conflict.

His remarks, shared on Facebook alongside a flight map showing ongoing regional instability, come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and neighboring areas.

“Do you want to know the price of peace? This is the result of pragmatic politics,” Kadagidze wrote. “Everything around Georgia is burning, and yet we remain the only island of peace in the region.”

He criticized opposition, saying they fail to understand the value of stability. “Fortunately, they are such a minority that their ingratitude is tolerable for Georgian society. Sooner or later, every ‘prodigal son’ will return to Georgia and recognize the efforts made for peace,” he stated.

He concluded his post by expressing hope for continued peace in Georgia and around the world: “May God grant peace to Georgia and to the entire world.”
