Opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi cameraman Levan Ablotia says that he fell down from the second floor of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party Kareli office yesterday after ‘extremely aggressive GD activists’ attacked him and he was unable to keep balance.

He stated earlier today that he was walking backwards to defend himself and his camera when he fell down. The channel head Nika Gvaramia stated yesterday that Ablotia was thrown down off the second floor of GD office yesterday.

GD released a video in the afternoon, ‘filmed near its Kareli office’ yesterday, which showed Ablotia walking and sitting on a sideboard ‘at that time the channel claimed he was unconscious.’

The party leadership says that Ablotia fell down and no one threw him off the height.

“Mtavari arkhi also has a recording that he fell down, but the channel deliberately misled the public,”GD said.

Ablotia was discharged from hospital earlier today.

Doctors said that he had superficial injuries he could treat at home.
