
Judge Tamar Mchedlishvili sentenced Nana Sanders to seven years in prison

The Tbilisi City Court has delivered its verdict in the so-called October 4 case, sentencing several defendants to prison terms while approving plea agreements for others.
Judge Tamar Mchedlishvili sentenced Nana Sanders to seven years in prison. Defendants Anton Uper and Abo Naveriani were each sentenced to five years' imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Mariam Mekantsivili, who had previously been released on bail, was fined GEL 5,000.
According to the court, Sanders, Uper, and Naveriani declined to enter into plea agreements with prosecutors, leading to the issuance of full prison sentences.
On the same day, plea agreements were approved for several other defendants in a related October 4 case, including Simon Makharadze, Kakhaber Kvachantiradze, Gia Toloraia, Mikheil Toloraia, Iuri Lomidze, Davit Giunashvili, Giorgi Talakhadze, Beka Machavariani, Giorgi Kirvalidze, Koba Epitashvili, and Saba Kordzaia.
Under the agreements, the defendants received sentences of one year and six months in prison, along with three years of suspended probation.
The court proceedings also heard that Manuchar Mikeladze and athlete Giorgi Kirvalidze declined to accept plea agreements.
The October 4 case refers to the events that took place during a protest in central Tbilisi on October 4, 2025, near the Presidential Palace. According to prosecutors, some participants attempted to breach police cordons, damage property, and force entry into the Presidential Palace compound.
